The Forestry Commission estimate that there are half a million roe deer in Britain, and indeed we sometimes even see them (up to no good) in our allotment in central Bristol.

This roe deer stood watching us from the tumbledown wall on the boundary of Warleigh Woods, as if confident that we could not see it hiding behind a twig.
