One from last autumn. We thought this may be Plums and Custard (Tricholomopsis rutilans). A small specimen nestling amongst the moss on a stump in October. Here is one (on the left) that an expert confirmed for us on a recent mushroom walk on the Blackdown Hills. Ours could be a older specimen?
So, it looks pretty close to us but the fact that P&C lives on “the well decayed wood of conifers” gave us pause for thought. We only found one so didn’t take a specimen for a spore print. We have the odd pine and it could have been an old pine stump but what else could it be that fits better with beech/ash on UK limestone?
