Pine overwhelmed with clematis

This scots pine on the northern edge of the middle clearing was completely overwhelmed with clematis a year ago.  With the help of a useful niece we freed it from the clematis but the tree retained the shape of a shepherd’s crook.

12 months on, the pine remains a puny specimen but has at least straightened itself out.
